The Holy Spirit will show us his plan, and then we will be able to cause it to come to fruition.
To help you in the process, I’d like to give some useful tips:
1. Keep communion with the Holy Spirit: Remember what the book Genesis says:
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
(Genesis 1:2) NIV
The original word for “hovering” was “rakjaf” which literally means to hatch, to incubate. Incubation is a process that requires time and dedication.
If we want to get the right vision, we need to spend quality time with the Holy Spirit, so that he may incubate his ideas in our hearts. Only He knows the deepest of God, and will reveal it to us when we wholeheartedly look for him.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
(John 16:13) NIV
2. Visualize with clarity: Once you have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, you need to project in your mind a clear vision of what you have received. It has to be as clear as the images on your tv. If your TV does not have a clear image, you will immediately know that there’s something wrong with it. The same happens with your mind, if you can’t have a clear visualization it might be because something is out of order. Maybe it is a lack of faith, fear or even sin.
Think of Abraham, when the Lord was trying to strengthen his faith, He called him out of the tent to contemplate the stars in heaven.
Is there anything clearer than creation itself ?
He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be. Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
(Genesis 15:5-6) NIV
3. Increase the level of your faith: Faith does not move in the intellectual field but in the spiritual, because it comes from God and is inspired by Him.
The bible gives us two practical tips about how to increase the level of our faith.
• By the word of God: Keeping a permanent relation with the word of God is fundamental. I’d like to share with you a challenge my daughter Sara had with the youth in the church by using a three step method:
Think of the word of God, proclaim it, and put it into practice.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
(Romans 10:17) NIV
• By fixing our eyes on Jesus: Many people do not get to have a clear vision because they are used to putting their eye on the circumstances and on what is logic. However, when you put your eyes on Jesus, you will see all the circumstances around you being transformed by the means of the faith.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:2) NIV
4. Wait for the miracle and don’t doubt: A miracle is the natural result of a pure and genuine faith. When God told me: “Dream with a big church”, I understood that the size of the church (my miracle) was not outside of me, but inside me;what I could believe in, I would conquer.
When Abraham received the promise of having a son, he had to feed the promise with faith in order to prevent doubt from attacking him in the waiting.
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
(Romans 4:18-21) NIV
