Sending takes place when new leaders are empowered to exercise leadership and fulfill the Great Commission.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19-20)
Why is sending important?
1. The mission we have is very big and that is why we need help in order to achieve it. The Lord Jesus, being God, did not work alone, but He worked together with His disciples. He sent them to the cities that He was going to visit.
After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
(Luke 10:1)
2. The need in the world we live in is very big. That is why the Lord Jesus asked His disciples to ask for people who were willing to work in the ministry.
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
(Luke 10:2)
The church needs people who are willing to work, who go where the needy are and preach the Word of God to them. People who feel in their hearts the needs of those who are going more lost day by day. The responsibility of mature believers is to prepare new Christians to be effective workers in God's work.
