1. Know your mission: A disciple who is sent knows very well that his mission is to make disciples and that he needs to reproduce himself in others.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19-20)
2. Work hard: A disciple who is sent not only works hard, but he puts all his effort to fulfill the mission that was entrusted to him.
“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
(2 Timothy 2:1)
3. Be faithful: A disciple who is sent shares the message of the Gospel and the Vision, without adding or subtracting anything to it.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
(2 Timothy 2:2)
4. Be qualified to teach: A disciple who is sent knows how to teach others and also prepares himself with excellence in the knowledge of the Word and the Vision.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
(2 Timothy 2:2)
5. Be a soldier: Do not focus on the things of the world, but focus solely on fulfilling your mission.
“No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.”
(2 Timothy 2:4)
6. Be an athlete: A true disciple prepares to run, perseveres until he reaches the finish line and competes following the rules in order not to be disqualified.
“Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.”
(2 Timothy 2:5)
7. Be a farmer: Understand that to see the ministerial fruit you have to work and sow first.
“The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.” (2 Timothy 2:6)
8. Have Jesus at the center of your life: A true disciple feeds his first love daily and does not forget the work of Jesus on the Cross, because this is the only thing that can bring redemption to people.
“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel.” (2 Timothy 2:8)
