How to be a wife after God’s own heart?
In Ephesians 5: 31-33 The lord through Paul instructs wifes about the correct way of developing their roll in the family.
1. A wife must be submissive to the husband: The wife must pray a lot for her husband, because of all the responsibilities that his roll implies.
The moment her husband practices his roll according to what the bible says, for her it will be very easy to submit to the leadership and direction of her loving husband.
“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.”
(Ephesians 5:22 NIV)
2. Showing respect to the husband: One of the temptations that wives face is not showing respect to their husband, due to the nature of intimacy of the relationship they have, with time they come to know all the weaknesses and strengths of the husband.
Focusing on the weaknesses, exposing them and even using them against the husband will take the strength away from the husband and will undermine his self-steem.
The words from the wife to the husband are fundamental for the construction of confidence in him.
“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
(Ephesians 5:33 NIV)
The responsibilities of the wife in her home might seem silent and non-visible at all, but they are of the most importance, and they affect the foundations of a family for good or bad because a wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one with her own hands tears her house down.
